Prayer for the Beatification of the Servant of God Fr. Stefano Gobbi

O Most Holy Trinity, we thank You for having given your priest servant, Fr. Stefano Gobbi, to the Church and to the world.  In Your Infinite Mercy, through his humble and total yes, You made him a true witness of faith in You, the One and Triune God.

By his unconditional yes, O Father, he was a courageous witness of Your Love.   In his clear and impassioned proclamation of the Gospel, O Divine Son Jesus, he was a shining and true image of You for your people.  With his total abandonment to You, O Holy Spirit, he became in his priestly apostolate, a fruitful minister for Your Bride [the Church], a herald of Mercy and a defender of Truth, always in communion with the Pope and in obedience to the Magisterium.

In him, O God, you made true devotion, filial love and total trust in Your Holy Mother shine resplendently.   As a little apostle, he consecrated himself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and worked for Her triumph in the world, encouraging everyone to trust in Her.  Through Mary, he showed us the sure path to the Most Holy Trinity.

For his shining example of faith and humility, and for the gifts You bestowed upon him, we ask You, O Most Holy Trinity, to grant us through Fr. Gobbi’s intercession, this grace we now request (…….); all the while wishing to remain totally abandoned to Your Will as Fr. Gobbi himself taught us.

Lord, we beseech You, that soon the Church will advance him as an example for all Your holy people.  And you, beloved Fr. Gobbi, please continue to intercede for us.  It is by imitating you and being supported by you, that we continue on our journey towards Heaven in Jesus Christ, the sure way that you have pointed out to us.  AMEN.*

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

In the canonization process, a miracle attributable to the candidate almost always refers to the spontaneous and lasting remission of a serious, life-threatening condition that cannot be explained by science.  Medical documentation is a requirement.

  1. The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines a miracle as “a sign or wonder such as a healing, or control of nature, which can only be attributed to divine power.” ↩︎
